Matt & Kim & Vocal Tracking

hoops-2When I last spoke with Matt, we were going over the Matt & Kim live gear needs, and at the end of the conversation he mentioned that they were going to start working on the vocals for the next album.

He mentioned that the headphones at the studio were okay, but he really likes to turn things up and have a lot of bass when he’s doing his vocal duty. Being the gear head that he is, Matt was already well-educated about Shure’s latest installment to cranium accessories that reproduce audio, the SRH840. I sent down a couple of pairs of SRH840 headphones, one for Matt and one for Kim, of course! Vocal tracking was successful and the band headed back home, finally.

To get the band ready for the next big leap in live performance, personal monitoring, I also sent along a few pairs of SCL5 earphones to try out. Their new PSM 900 systems were ready to meet them back in NYC, and I wanted them to get used to the new gear. Clearly Kim is ready for the next step. I’m really looking forward to the new album and to seeing them at Lollapalooza in Chicago!
