10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! It’s that time again, clean slate time! The time when it’s OK to forget about all the promises you didn’t keep the year before and re-promise them to yourself with the best intentions. It’s ok, I’m pretty sure the majority of the people out there didn’t keep them. It’s always good to challenge yourself and set goals for yourself because remember, you can’t be afraid to be great!
What’s on your resolution list this year? Eating better? Saving money? Working out? Those are definitely in my top 5 as well. Another one on my list is, believe it or not, to do a better job at music. That includes being better at audio in general like learning about the new trends and techniques, learning new gear, as well as discovering new music. The good thing is, by doing one of the things on my list I can usually do another. And nothing goes better together than working out and listening to music.
The start of the new year brings new music so before we start updating our workout playlist with the newest and greatest, it’s time to dig out those sweatbands and review some of 2013’s popular workout jams – working out optional of course… Take a listen to the playlist below. There is a little something for everyone, (indie, dance, pop, rock, hip, hop and metal) and for every type of workout. I included songs perfect for your favorite cardio workout, running, lifting weights and even for yoga or cooling down. All radio edits of course… Therefore, some of the obvious ones have been left out because, you know, this is a family blog and there might be kids reading. Sorry Britney… Take a listen and let me know if I left out any of your favorites. The DJ in me put them first in style then in BPM (Beats Per Minute) order starting slowly for your warm up and then increasing the speed or intensity, and back to slow for your cool down.
Now time to start the 2014 playlist going…
