Sing Your Heart Out !!

August 10, 2010

Young singers from all over Tennessee and a few surrounding states converged on the Williamson County Fair for a special contest.  32 contestants in 3 different age levels took the stage to sing in front a panel of judges.  Oh, by the way, I was one of the judges!   I was also able to bring in a good friend and Shure Endorsing Country singer Jo Dee Messina to join in on the judging.  The third judge was Amy Wolter from Tom Jackson productions, who assists artists in improving their stage presence.

There were many brave girls and boys who took the stage throughout the night, all signing on Shure mics.  There was some amazing talent…you may just hear from some of them in a few years.

So, who has been organizing and putting this event together for the last few years? If you happen to catch a young yodeler on America’s Got Talent a few years ago, it was Miss Taylor Ware.  Now 15 years old, Taylor is in charge of this event, enlisting the help of her wonderful parents.

Here’s just a few shots from the evenings festivities.  Enjoy!

First place in the Grade School division went to:  Allison Felner

First Place in the Middle School division went to:  Briana Middleton

First Place in the High School division went to:  Katie Hahn

and the overall winner was:  Briana Middleton

Congrats to all the contestants for making it this far.  Keep on singing your hearts out!
