August is going great so far! There are so many artists coming to Nashville this month, it will keep me plenty busy.
It’s been about 8 months since I’ve seen MUTEMATH and it was worth the wait. Most of the guys in the band now have families and they were very excited to share the news and pictures.
In between changing diapers and doing shows, the group is in the initial stages of putting out new material. No indications as to when but for one of the most exciting bands to watch on tour, it will be so welcome!
Drummer Darren King, singer/Keyboardist Paul Meany, and bassist Roy Mitchell-Cardenas spent a few minutes with me backstage before their set on 8/3. Darren’s family was along for the ride and I got to meet them as well.
I had not been to the Tennessee Amphitheater before. The backdrop of the venue is the beautiful city skyline of Nashville.
As always, this band puts on one of the most exciting, energetic shows out there. Great job guys and can’t wait to see you again.
Matt & Kim
Fresh off an amazing show at Lollapalooza in Chicago, Matt & Kim headlined the first night of local Nashville radio station Lighting 100’s Live On The Green concert series. These free shows feature some of Nashville’s finest artists as well as some national headliners.
Nashville had received 2-4 inches of rain in the morning but it all cleared up as the sun started to fall. Gin Wigmore took the stage first followed by ZZ Ward. During ZZ’s set, I had the opportunity to meet with Matt & Kim. It was great to sit for a bit on their bus and talk about Nashville and Shure gear. The group puts our gear through the ringer and it has not let them down yet. Matt made special mention on the sound quality of the PSM900s and how he gets bummed out if he has to use something else.
Watching their energetic set, you will see why Shure is the only gear that can hold up on their stage. They had 12,000+ fans in the palms of their hands last night. Keep up the great vibes gang!
